Communiqué Plus, first issued in 1985, was intended to provide further background on matters dealt with by Convocation that could not be covered adequately in Communiqué.
Begun in 1972 as a one-page letter, Communiqué was prepared and signed by Kenneth Jarvis, Secretary, immediately after each meeting and distributed to all members of the Law Society by mail. It focused particularly on summarizing discipline decisions and policies, rather than administrative matters. Communiqué was discontinued in 1987 (with issue 177) when Convocation began to publish a resume of its proceedings in the Ontario Reports.
The Law Society printed and distributed an abridged version of the minutes of Convocation (the board of directors) between the years 1879 and 1991. Abridged minutes were not printed for the years 1928 to 1935 and 1983 to 1986. The printed minutes were bound in 25 volumes.
